Liberty Business Associates is pleased to be a local sponsor of this year’s Charleston STEM Festival. The STEM Festival is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and math in the Lowcountry. This free outdoor festival is celebrating it’s 3rd year in the Lowcountry and provides the opportunity for children, teens, and their families to meet local STEM professionals.
According to the Charleston STEM Festival:
“With the goal of increasing awareness of the role of science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) in society, promoting responsible science in the region, and conveying the joy of STEM, The Citadel, on behalf of the Lowcountry STEM Collaborative, submitted a proposal to the Science Festival Alliance to receive seed funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to launch a community festival in Charleston, SC. In August of 2013, Charleston was notified that it was one of 12 communities nationwide to be awarded funding and the Charleston STEM Festival became a reality.”
The event will feature 50 exhibitors, who will be providing hands-on activities, live performances and interactive demonstrations suitable for the whole family. This will be a great entertaining and educational event for children and teens alike to certainly gain additional perspectives into the STEM community. This event is open to the public and is taking place on February 6, 2016 from 10am-3pm at Brittlebank Park in Charleston, SC.
